GoDaddy
Reviews and Complaints
Make sure you don't purchase under the abc.us the .us is not private and go daddy publishes ALL your info and hundreds of scammers will have your name phone number etc and they will call you 24/7.
They started calling me at 6 am the day after Thanksgiving. They text and call nonstop.
They leave messages with just breathing. If you try to call the number back it has been changed or is no longer in service. Go daddy knows this will happen to you but does not warn you and your info is out on the internet for them all to continue to stalk you. They are scammers and go daddy's responds in oh well eventually they will stop.
One person from Think Surf Media, from india, says he's registered in Texas but it isn't registered in texas. Its all a scam and godaddy.com posts your info so you will get scammed and they don't care. They won't help you at all. I just wonder how many people have been scammed and if godaddy gets kickbacks from the money they steal from innocent people.
Please be aware so you don't get scammed, I wouldn't use anyone connected to go daddy to help with marketing, web design or any other services.
Use someone reputable, so you don't get ripped off. Good Luck people.

Frustrating setup experience
Trying to get a domain and website connected. GoDaddy provided wrong information for CName.
Tried getting chat to fix issue but they said they could not. They want me to do the work to fix it when they made the error. Instructions are not even clear for a customer that would be doing this for the first time.
GoDaddy asks people to review interactions with customers but the real problem is their processes and not giving their people the tools to work with e.g. ability to talk with other tech companies and customer at the same time; ability to record and share chat notes so customers don't have to repeat themselves.
Instead I am into my 5th hour trying to fix and issue and spread over 2 days. I have a time sensitive promotion that I am just wasting money on now as a result of all the complications.

Verified Reviewer | Brooklyn, New YorkGoDaddy is a Domain Squatter
I have been a customer of GoDaddy for well over 15 years. There was a time when I would've recommended the company, but not anymore.
GoDaddy is now in the domain squatting business.
Keep in mind that I'm not talking about the choicest top level domains like Dogs DotCom or Jewelry DotCom. I'm talking about very generic domains that aren't hot by any means but just have a popular keyword in the title. Now these types of domains are artificially offered as "premium" and go for hundreds if not thousands of dollars, with a lame explanation as to why they're worth that much.
I did more research into this just to make sure it's not my imagination but sure enough, saw others making the same complaint. Some claimed that their domains became "premium" when they accidentally forgot to renew on time.
Others are saying that GD has a shell company snapping up all these domains.
Isn't it wonderful how companies like GoDaddy have made it virtually impossible for the little guy to stake a claim in the web? You used to have to spend maybe $200 a year for a website, now you have to spend a thousand dollars or more to acquire a generic domain that has now been deemed premium.
