Auto Renew Ripoff

I retired almost three years ago. My GoDaddy email and domains kept auto-renewing. I spoke to them in Fall of 2017 after they renewed and told them to stop my auto renews in the future. Unfortunately they didn't. When my email auto-renewed in November 2018 they hit a credit card that was expired and caused me trouble there. I've tried to sign on and see what was happening with my account because I was no longer getting emails and I could not tell what was happening. I couldn't find a sign on to my account and it took me a couple of months to finally get back in and see what they had done. When I talked to the customer rep "Joey" who will not give his last name, he said my domain had expired, and not renewed in November. However, they renewed my email account against my card and it has been active. EXCEPT THAT I'M GETTING NO EMAILS BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T RENEW MY DOMAIN. So I tell him nothing was supposed to renew because I've been retired for nearly three years and I want a reimbursement of my email account fees. He refused and said that I should have requested them within 30 days. But that was the holidays, and I was getting no email and I couldn't get into my account. So finally I figured it out today and he refuses to escalate it or give me any money back. DO NOT AUTORENEW WITH THIS COMPANY......THEY WILL TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU. He can see Ive gotten not a single email since November because they didn't renew my domain, which is fine. But they renewed my email when they weren't supposed to and now they won't give my money back????I will report them to their state department of commerce for bad practices, the Better Business Bureau and online where I can. I still have products with them as I was with them for probably 10 years. ITS A *** WAY TO TREAT YOUR LONG TERM CUSTOMERS!!!!

GoDaddy customer service is a joke and a waste

I've had GoDaddy since I opened my business in 2006. Over the years my experience has worsened with GoDaddy to the point where GoDaddy is, in my opinion, worthless.

I called GoDaddy because of 360 problems I'm having and I waited for 15 min to speak with someone. I told her immediately I was a genius in my field and an IT idiot in her field. She promptly gave BAD advise, realized it and they told me that she couldn't fix the problem that may have resulted due to her bad advise. I then asked for a supervisor and was placed on hold for another 35 minutes to speak with a supervisor who advised he "didn't have an email address" that I could send the info to and he couldn't help me.

I WASTED AN HOUR to wind up not only not resolving the issue for which I called but was placed in a worse position then when I called.

I'M SO DISGUSTED WITH GO DADDY as I'm SURE MANY of their other customer are as well. I truly wish that SOMEONE their had expertise and ethics but I wouldn't put a dime on it!!!

Godaddy has ripped me off also and canceled my free linux economy hosting plan without notice and since prevents me from getting my data to migrate to a better host like freehosting. I also paid for backorder and domain buy of openInvent.com and watched this domain get listed on expired domains .com and changed registrar info 3 times. From sitehero.com to uniregistry.com to namesilo.com. Furthermore, ICANN is preventing me from getting the owners contact data and I registered the trademark openInvent the USPTO ignored my voluntary amendment and concealed documentary evidence as well like ICANN did this is a violation of California Penal Code 135. What probably worse is my Uncle is a Lawyer named Kevin Ready and he wont even help me find a competent lawyer. I think all lawyers a *** bag, and corrupt and my 5000 USD has been sitting at least 2 years for a competent *** to try my case. See vibrochat.com

Try calling them with a problem. You'll be pushed around to different know-nothings that are happy to get your verification and account details, but nobody can help.

Without warning, they pulled my website off the internet. I called and they said they would be happy to restore it, but it would cost me nearly $1,500.00!!! I've been a loyal Customer since 2004. And this is how I'm treated. If I want to go with another company to have them host my site, I won't be able to, for GoDaddy will not allow me to take my domain name to the new provider. So, I pay them to host for a year, they take it down and then demand $$$$ to restore what was already a working website......

Scammers!

They call and talk fast. Can’t understand and won’t let you speak with technician until you pay. Then you say O.K. and they take “all” the money at once and no results. Can’t talk with anyone. Never go back again.

Error establishing a database connection!!!!??? is what one of my web sites is showing. Loosing business, look very unprofessional and it has been over a week. With prior issues last 3-4 months.. A "Supervisor" from Go Daddy was very arrogant & did not help with my legitimate problem. I have been a loyal Go Daddy customer for years. Have 4X web sites hosts by them, 4X domain names e mail marketing etc. And, have invested thousand of dollars. One of my 4 web site reads what it says above. Instead of being kind, courteous and professional to resolve my issue. The supervisor asked for credit card to run more $.....??

Chatted for 45 minutes just trying to cancel a SSL for one of my domain. The person kept doing and asking everything else except what I wanted, eventually it was cancelled. Later on found out one of my another SSL got cancelled, which still Had 6 months of credit left. Called up the Call Centre then was put on hold for 25 minutes while he looked into my account without being informed, after I was told they cannot put back the SSL and I have to purchase to have it activated. Then I was put on hold for another 20 minutes when I requested to chat with a supervisor. No supervisor was available and I was refused anything in writing for the same! What a *** Whole thing went for at least more then an hour! *** service! Wtf

GoDaddy used to be a great company years ago but now they are just a money sucking , customer service horror story. I have 2 identical sites on wordpress and one is hosted by a much lesser known company and never has issues with updates or anything else.

The site I host with GoDaddy has issues which affects my business and sales at least 5 times in the last year. They do automatic updates and who knows what else then when the site has issues try to sell you a package for a wordpress specialist help ticket. My web developer warned me about this but I didn't listen. Now I see the scam.

They mess up your site and then make you pay to fix it constantly. It's all a scam. Smaller companies are cheaper and more reliable. GoDaddy found ways to scam customers.

It's all calculated. They are a total scam company now.

I recently went to a business to business show and I found at least 5 businesses who switched off GoDaddy for the same reasons!!! Beware of their scams!

I had purchased a domain name from GoDaddy.com, then I paid extra to have the domain owned anonymously so no one would email or call me asking to buy the domain.

I then listed the domain for sale and paid a 20% commission to GoDaddy to sell it for me, anonymously. I did NOT want my name or info shared with the buyer. BUT GUESS WHO I RECEIVED A CALL AND MULTIPLE TEXT MESSAGES FROM? The Buyer!!!

The buyer then told me over the phone that they got all my info simply by asking the GoDaddy customer support for my info. EVEN THOUGH I PAID to have the domain made anonymous, and then PAID again for them (GoDaddy) to sell it for me (anonymously). They did the exact opposite!

Not to mention, they did not notify me of the domain selling. I just had to find out on my own by seeing that it wasn't owned by me anymore. They were going to keep my money without giving me MY MONEY.

These people are THIEVES!

Go Daddy Fat Shames Long Time Customer and Refuses to Stop

I have been a Go Daddy customer for 19 years and have paid the company thousands of dollars each year for domain names, websites and other services the company offers. For 18 years and 10 months it has been a great relationship as a VIP client. That is until the last two months when GoDaddy began fat shaming me on an almost daily basis with its suggested domains. *** Examples (my first name)heavy (my last name).com; (my first name)heavy(myfirstname)(my last name).com (as well as .us)

I reported this to Go Daddy, including my VIP Contact Brian Roof and several others in the VIP department. At first they blamed it on an algorithm that purportedly suggest names based on other domains you own. Neither I nor my company own names that contain the word heavy, fat, obese, diet or anything like that,

The content of one website uses the word "heavy" as an adjective to discuss the merits of heavy appetizers vs a sit down dinner for a future event. So in order to have got the word heavy Go Daddy would have had to use Artificial Intelligence to scan the content of websites (words and pictures, meta tags) , not just domain names owned by GoDaddy customers.

Had this been a one off occurrence, I probably wouldn't bother writing this, but this is now something that has been happening just about every day for the last two months. It's totally ridiculous. If I have multiple websites and hundreds and hundreds of domains, why such a concentration with my name and heavy?

Whether or not this is an ethical practice on behalf of GoDaddy or within its terms of service agreement, the development may affect others so I am making a good faith effort to get the word out here and on other complaint sites. Go Daddy's reps were informed that this was coming, because they lack the sensitivity, willingness or apparent authority to stop this oppressive shaming from occurring.

Support sucks!

Called 5 times over 2 days, finally got 1 awesome man Thomas who fixed our problem in 2 minutes after a bunch of rude tech support sounded like they couldn't be bothered and couldn't get off the phone quick enough.
